Indigenous people of Central America gather during the 3rd International Encounter of the Children of Mother Earth

With the traditional act of invocation and gratitude towards Mother Earth, the indigenous representatives opened the Encounter, and the children’s chorus of Izalco sang the National Anthem of the Republic of El Salvador in the Nahuatl tongue.

In Uribia, the Indigenous Capital of Columbia, 21 representatives from indigenous communities of six Latin American countries gathered, with the purpose of socializing, discussing, and unifying their proposals in benefit of Mother Earth and the harmonic restoration of human beings with their environment.

More than 3000 people gathered at the Indigenous Capital of Colombia, Uribia - The Guajira, with 21 communities of the indigenous people of South America, in the 2nd International Encounter of Children of Mother Earth, carried out by the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP).

At the Cuscatlán park of San Salvador, government officials, representatives from indigenous and environmental organizations, Guardians for the Peace of Mother Earth and members of civil society gathered to celebrate International Mother Earth Day, a date that was designated for each April 22nd.
