Opening of the 4th International Blood Donation Marathon

This October 1st, the Central University of Venezuela was the scenery for the opening of the 4th Blood Drive Marathon “Life is in the Blood” which was in charge of the Global Ambassador of Peace, Dr. William Soto, who said: «I invite all the Activists for Peace and the community, in general, to join to the 4th Blood Drive Marathon “Life is in the Blood”, as an expression of love for others».

Dr. Soto made a tour of the areas of blood and plasma donation, accompanied by the Committee of the International Directive of the Global Embassy of Activists of Peace: Dr. Miguel Bermudez, International Coordinator; Dr. Camilo Montoya, Director of the Project Council; Dr. Aurys de Freitas, Consultant of the Project Council; Ruth Flores de Bermudez, Coordinator of Venezuela; and regional coordinators and Activists for Peace of Venezuela.

The Sub-director of Culture of the Central University of Venezuela, Gustavo Parra; Sr. Fernando Alban, Council member of the Municipality Libertador of the Capital District in Venezuela, and the Ambassador Julio Cesar Pineda were also present.

In each donation area, the doctors in charge gave a brief explanation of the process done for the blood and plasma donation. Finally, regional coordinators and young activists gave a short exposition about the work the Global Embassy and Activists for Peace, and of the Communicational Education Program for the Formation of a Culture of Voluntary and Regular Safe Blood Donation.

This was the forerunner of the International Conference “Donating the sap of life”, which was carried out in the Aula Magna of the Central University of Venezuela, with the presence of hundreds of Activists for Peace and coordinators of institutions related with the blood donation in Venezuela, among other special guests.
