119 Panamanian students attend the GEAP educational workshops

Students of 10˚, 11˚ and 12˚ grade of the International Bilingual Institute, participated in the Educating to Remember Workshops, given from July 2 to 4, 2018, by volunteers of the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) of Panama in the facilities of the institution

Through the Educational Program "Educating to Remember", the GEAP contributes with the teaching and learning process, developing topics on respect, tolerance, justice, equity, equality, solidarity, the study and promotion of human rights and the analysis of genocides perpetrated in history with an emphasis on the Holocaust.

The event was supported by Álvaro Alvarado, director of the Bilingual International Institute and Rubén Pitty, academic coordinator of high school students, teachers and peace activists

During history classes, six workshops were held, with the attendance of 119 students and 5 teachers, which resulted in 87 peace proposals from the students.

In the workshops, peace activists discussed issues of identifying warning signs in current conflicts and presenting peace proposals that impact the student community and other members of society.

The directors of the school chose three peace proposals that will be carried out over the next few days.
