In Mexico, only 3.8% of blood donations are obtained voluntarily, according to data from the National Center for Blood Transfusion in the country. To achieve an adequate and reliable supply of safe blood, citizen participation and collaboration of the institutions is required.
The workers of the Consulate expressed their gratitude to the authorities of the health sector and EMAP for giving them the opportunity to participate in the donation campaign "Life is in the Blood".
In this way, the staff contributed to the promotion of a culture of voluntary, altruistic and regular donation of safe blood, since the lack of safe and effective blood supply is a problem that knows no boundries.
