The activity that was performed in coordination with the State Blood transfusion Center (CETS) Nayarit, and the City Hall of Tepic reached a total of 40 effective units.

Representatives of the City Police, Fireman, Woman Institute, Civil Protection, Sports Area, Sanitary Regulation, Public Cleanliness, among others, were present at the event.

The staff of the City's Public Health Department, along with the activists for peace, promoted the different areas of the activity, obtaining an estimated participation of 57 people.

Each person that assisted the event learned the importance of being a voluntary donor and the health benefits this solidary act brings; and above all, that they can become anonymous heroes for all those that require this vital liquid.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), to cover the necessity of blood in a country, around 1% to 3% of the population is needed from voluntary, altruist and regular donors.

The GEAP in Mexico, through blood donation marathons promote the culture of voluntary, altruist and regular safe blood donation in society, to stock the blood banks of the country.
