The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP), as part of the activities it carries out through the youth movement, held the Educational Encounter "Young people with entrepreneurship for Peace". This event was held in Guadalajara with the purpose of training young people and peace actions multiplying leaders.

Minutes before the Encounter, an agreement was signed between the GEAP, the University Center of Economic and Administrative Sciences (CUCEA) of the University 1of Guadalajara (UDG) and the Jalisco Institute of Youth (IJJ).

The meeting brought together youth leaders from Jalisco and government entities; the rector of the CUCEA, José Castellanos; The director of the IJJ, Ramón Morales and people from the interior of the country.

Similarly, Gloria Abarca, Ph.D. in International Peace Studies; The director of Youth Welfare and Stimulus of the Mexican Institute of Youth (Imjuve), Juan Rico; The director of Socialab, Juan del Cerro; Representatives of the GEAP, and more than 400 students and Activists for Peace.

 

An educational work

As an instructive peace initiative, José Castellanos, representing the CUCEA, said that holding the Meeting contributes to consolidate an inclusive entrepreneurial culture with a broad perspective, which not only promotes economic productivity but also social welfare.

Under the theme "Youth Competitiveness and the Solution to the Challenges of the 21st Century", Gloria Abarca said: "Talking about a culture of peace is not just talking about something that sounds nice or sounds ideal; the challenge is to begin to understand how we are built as human beings.”

Likewise, in terms of entrepreneurship for social peace, Juan del Cerro, director of Socialab, emphasized:

"The main value that a young and social entrepreneur must have is: empathy, putting ourselves in the shoes of another; knowing the impact our actions have on others.”

Next meeting in Colima

The Colima state youth secretary, Gamaliel Haro, invited the students and citizens in general for the meeting that will bring together youth leaders for peace, they also invited the public to get to know the programs and projects of the GEAP.

With the signing of the agreement, the GEAP, in confederation with the other institutions, focused the objective of the effort from an education for peace perspective and the formation of integral human beings, conducted under the lines of work.

 

For an integral education.

Representatives of the national board of the GEAP together with the Federation of University Students (FEU) of the University of Guadalajara, signed a collaboration agreement to continue the work on education for the peace of the human family and Mother Earth.
