Prevention! Peruvians participate in beach clean-up days

International Coastal Cleanup Day

On the occasion of the celebration of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) together with the municipality of San Miguel, public and private institutions, the Navy, the Boy Scouts, and NGOs, held environmental conferences in Peru.

With the creation of work teams led by the Guardians of Mother Earth, environmental movement of the GEAP, the beaches of Pimentel and Santa Rosa de Chiclayo were cleaned; the Huanchaco beach in Trujillo; and the Bay of Chimbote.

During the tour, the volunteers carried out the separation of solid waste (plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, and metals) under international recycling standards. This action promoted citizen participation, inviting the inhabitants of these regions to care for and protect natural spaces.
With the execution of this cleanup, the Guardians seek to prevent pollution of the seas. In this sense, they call on citizens to avoid throwing common garbage in these areas.
