3,800 meters I Guardians of Mother Earth clean INTURISMO Beach

International Coastal Cleanup Day

As part of the International Program "Children of Mother Earth", the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Nicaragua, celebrated the International Coastal Cleanup Day, with the aim of raising awareness among the population about the care and preservation of the oceans.

The activity was carried out with more than 30 volunteers from the environmental movement Guardians for the Peace of Mother Earth, together with the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (INTUR), who cleaned 3,800 meters of the INTURISMO tourist beach in the city of Granada.

The day consisted in the collection, selection, and transport of waste, mainly plastics. They also counted with the support of the cleaning team of this state institution.

This event is promoted by the environmental protection group Ocean Conservancy, which aims to promote healthy and diverse ocean ecosystems; In addition, they are the host of the International Coastal Cleanup every year.
