Integral project "Children of Mother Earth" sensitizes thousands of young people in Venezuela on the importance of taking real actions of protection and care of the environment

Venezuela

For the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace, the participation of young people in all the plans, programs, projects and campaigns carried out for the peace and happiness of the Integral Human Being is of vital importance; as well as raising awareness among children, young people, adults and the elderly that the Integral Human Being also understands the harmonious relationship of all the inhabitants of the planet with our Mother Earth.

Thus, as part of the International Youth Encounter, held from September 26 to 29, 2015 in Valencia, Venezuela, the GEAP shared with the more than 5,000 participants from different countries of the Americas, Europe and Africa the real and effective proposal of protection and care of the environment, called: "Guardians for the Peace of our Mother Earth".

"Guardians for Peace of our Mother Earth" links thousands of young people committed to working for the defense of the Rights of Mother Earth.

The presentation of the objectives of the Project "Children of Mother Earth" was in charge of Carmen Salzano, the coordinator of the event, who presented a documentary video to the young audience that shows the real conditions in which the planet Earth is.

The indiscriminate cutting of trees, the extinction of species and the contamination of water sources, are actions carried out by the hand of man, and which prove the irrationality of which human beings are victims today.

In order to counteract the damage done to Mother Earth and prevent the total destruction of ecosystems, it was proposed that the youth perform real actions of protection, care, and restoration of the environment in which we live, recognizing that Mother Earth is a living being, and therefore has rights that must be respected and protected.

Some of the proposed actions that young people can carry out are to carry out brigades for the recovery of the atmosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, plant and animal diversity and the welfare of human beings. To which with applause the public responded by supporting the ideas put forward by a group of young Guardians of Mother Earth.

Decalogue of basic actions of commitment for our Mother Earth

At the end of the afternoon, and before the massive attendance that still remained in the expectant audience, the Executive President of GEAP and ideologist of the project "Children of Mother Earth" read the ten basic actions of commitment that all the Guardians for Peace of our Mother Earth must know, in order to be aware that the effort and the work in favor of the environment and the protection of its resources is our responsibility.

The Decalogue released to the new Guardians contains the following basic actions:

FIRST: Recognize that Mother Earth is a living being that we love, respect and protect.

SECOND: We work for its worldwide recognition, and we promote and spread the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Mother Earth.

THIRD: We help to heal our Mother Earth as an inheritance of present and future generations.

FOURTH: We feel and demonstrate our fraternity with Mother Earth.

FIFTH: We prepare ourselves on the theme of environmental justice to be observers and informers of environmental crimes.

SIXTH: We protect biodiversity with actions that promote reforestation and care of endangered species.

SEVENTH: We care for the Integral Human Being in soul, spirit, and body.

EIGHTH: We fulfill the five "R's": Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Reject and Reeducate.

NINE: We promote the use of clean energy to protect and reduce the effects of climate change.

TENTH: Real actions that we will build together.

Aware of the important responsibility entailed by the commitment to protect and care for Mother Earth as guardians of Peace, Dr. William Soto Santiago took the oath to the more than 5,000 young people present who expressed their commitment to watch over the continuity of life on Earth.
