Santamaría explained that the agency works directly with companies because they believe that there must be a fluid communication, a dialogue between employers, unions, representatives of workers and the Government.

She stressed that this relationship with companies or industries has been strengthened in different employment fairs, promoted by the Ministry and other entities. She assured that this work has contributed to the decrease of almost 40% of informal work in Panama.

Santamaría commented on the complexity of joining the needs of the job seeker to get a decent job, and the need for the employer to be able to get a qualified workforce to fill vacancies. She indicated that reaching agreements in this area will allow a more effective contribution to sustainable development.
